Aaron Schmidt

Aaron Schmidt currently serves as the Deputy Commissioner for Community Development and Conservation with the Town of Greenburgh, NY, a position held since July 2014. Previously, Schmidt worked as an Environmental Planner and Town Arborist/Forestry Officer for the same town from August 2005 to July 2014. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Town Tree Ordinance, authoring a Tree Technical Manual, and organizing Arbor Day events. Schmidt has successfully achieved the Tree City USA designation for Greenburgh multiple times and manages numerous environmental compliance inspections and permit processes. Prior to this, Schmidt contributed as a consultant for Ventura Enterprise Co., Inc. and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning from the University at Albany.
