John E. Snyder

John E. "Ed" Snyder is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in code enforcement, fire services, and law enforcement. Currently serving as a Code Compliance Officer for the Town of Nags Head, North Carolina, since June 2016, Snyder previously held the position of Code Enforcement Inspector and Deputy Fire Marshal in the City of Colonial Heights from April 2015 to June 2016. Additionally, Snyder served as Chief of Police at Richard Bland College of William & Mary from September 2009 to April 2014 and had a long tenure at the City of Colonial Heights from February 1987 to September 2009, where Snyder was Deputy Fire Chief and also worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Earlier career experience includes serving as Assistant District Chief in the County of Chesterfield and as a Sergeant and Deputy Sheriff. Educational credentials include studies at Medical College of Virginia, Hampton University, John Tyler Community College, and North Penn High School.
