Colby W. Sawyer

Colby W. Sawyer, MPA, CEM, is an experienced professional in emergency management and public safety, currently serving as the Emergency Management Coordinator and Public Information Officer for the Town of Pittsboro since April 2022. In addition to overseeing the Town's Emergency Operations Center and developing emergency plans, Sawyer is the President of Croatan Solutions, LLC, managing a team of contractors and providing consulting services to local governments. Previous roles include Emergency Management Specialist for Chatham County, Emergency Management Coordinator for the North Carolina Ferry System, and consultant for Hyde County. Sawyer holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, as well as a Basic Law Enforcement Training certificate from Brunswick Community College. Professional experience is complemented by early roles in emergency response as a lifeguard at the National Park Service and YMCA.
