Town of Smithers
Will George is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community and economic development. Currently serving as the Director of Community Services for the Town of Smithers since September 2022, Will leads various strategic and operational initiatives across multiple divisions. Previously, Will worked as an Economic Development Officer in Smithers, a Project Manager for the City of Coquitlam, and held the position of Manager of Economic Development, Communications and Tourism in Merritt. Additional experience includes internships and roles with the Village of Lytton, Northern Development Initiative Trust, and youth programs in Kamloops. Will holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Thompson Rivers University and additional degrees in Economics and Politics from two international institutions.
