ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
In 2015, the Town of Windsor was rated one of the safest communities in Colorado by ValuePenguin and previously Family Circle rated the Town one of the 10 Best Towns for Families. The Town of Windsor’s location offers easy access to skiing, hiking, cycling, art, museums and history, specialty breweries, outdoor concerts, live music, festivals and more.  There is no shortage of things to do that lend to the high quality lifestyle our residents and Coloradoan’s enjoy. 

THE ORGANIZATION
The Town of Windsor is home-rule with a Board/ Manager form of govt.  The Town employs 114 benefited personnel and has a total budget of $53 Million in 2015. Windsor was incorporated in 1890.

Windsor has a strong local economy with diverse business sectors that provide jobs and services for residents.  Windsor promotes quality development.  Windsor enjoys a friendly community with a vibrant downtown, housing opportunities, choices for leisure, cultural activities, recreation and mobility for all.  Windsor is a good environmental steward.

The Town of Windsor is located approximately 50 miles north of Denver, centered between Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley.  It offers a small town atmosphere of community with all the benefits of the larger metropolitan nearby.  The population is nearly 39,000 with an annual average growth of 3-4%. There are about 799 businesses and a full-time employment base of more than 7,000 jobs.
