Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Principal Product Manager at Elsevier, overseeing various projects related to product definition and business strategy. Adam also co-founded Lifepots, a company aimed at improving individual happiness and well-being. Earlier in their career, Adam held positions such as Manager of Product and Software Engineering at Intent HQ, Founder of Hatch.to, Software Developer at Betfair and Spark New Zealand, and Business and Technology Consultant at IBM. Adam's background also includes being a PhD Researcher at the University of Southampton.

Adam D. pursued their education in the field of Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences at the University of Oxford from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Master's degree. Adam then continued their academic journey at the University of Southampton from 2009 to 2014, focusing on the study of complex systems simulation. At this institution, they successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.
