Laura Martens began their work experience as a Product Designer at Nutcreatives in October 2013. Laura then worked as a Customer Service Representative at Hewlett-Packard from April 2014 to September 2014. After that, they joined GSK as a Human Centered Designer in October 2014, where they participated in various design projects and focused on innovation and problem-solving through design thinking. In 2015, Laura worked as a UX Research Analyst at NTT DATA Europe & LATAM and later became a Senior UX Researcher at the same company from January 2017 to November 2019.
In November 2019, Laura Martens started their own company and worked as a Senior Design Researcher & Service Designer. Laura then joined ustwo as a Lead Design Researcher and was involved in a global project aimed at building connected mobility services of the future. Additionally, Laura worked as a Lead Service Designer at ustwo, collaborating with the product planning and engineering teams of Renault-Nissan to conceptualize connected service ideas.
In August 2020, Laura Martens joined Toyota Connected Europe as a Lead Design Researcher, where they led the research track of the design team. Laura'sresponsibilities included conducting research, coordinating research within feature teams, promoting a user-centric approach, and building a centralized insights portal.
Currently, Laura Martens is also working as a UX Research Instructor at AllWomen, starting in September 2021.
Laura Martens obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design/Industrial Product Design from Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen from 2008 to 2011. Laura then pursued a Bachelor's degree in the same field at Brunel University London from 2010 to 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Product Development at the University of Antwerp from 2011 to 2013.
