Karel de Wilde

Karel De Wilde is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law and compliance. Currently serving as General Counsel - Vice President Legal and Compliance at Toyota Motor Europe since May 2017, Karel manages legal, compliance, and internal audit departments for operations across 53 countries with significant annual turnover and sales. Prior to Toyota, Karel held the positions of Company Secretary and General Counsel at Etex Group and General Counsel and Company Secretary at Telindus Group, where responsibilities included advising senior management on strategic legal matters and managing major M&A transactions. Karel began the legal career at Allen & Overy, handling cross-border transactions and commercial disputes. Karel's educational background includes an EMBA from INSEAD and degrees in law from prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge and KU Leuven.
