Rick Cory

Manager, Dexterous Manipulation at Toyota Research Institute

Rick Cory has extensive experience in robotics and engineering, currently serving as Manager of Dexterous Manipulation at Toyota Research Institute since April 2017, following a role as Senior Robotics Engineer. Previous positions include Senior Engineer in the Special Projects Group at Apple from March 2015 to March 2017, and Senior R&D Imagineer at Walt Disney Imagineering, where Cory led system integration for the Na'vi animatronic figure. Cory also held positions as a Postdoctoral Associate at Disney Research, Research Scientist at NASA Johnson Space Center, and Research Engineer at Advanced Telecommunications Research International. Internships at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and California Institute of Technology were completed prior to earning a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
