Kevin P. Voelkel

President, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc. at Toyota Motor Corporation

Kevin Voelkel is group vice president of North American Truck Manufacturing at Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) as well as president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc. (TMMTX) based in San Antonio, Texas.

Voelkel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. In addition to leading the daily production and administrative operations at TMMTX, Voelkel oversees all truck manufacturing in North America which includes production of the full-size Tundra and the all-new Sequoia SUV at TMMTX, and the coordination of the production of the Tacoma at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Baja California and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Guanajuato.

Voelkel joined Toyota in 2005 with the responsibility for the formation of 21 new on-site suppliers as part of the establishment of TMMTX. During his 17 years with Toyota, Voelkel held several positions at TMMTX, including project general manager, environmental director and general manager of administration before taking assignment with TMNA in 2015 in Plano, Texas where he held dual positions as the vice president of One Toyota Competitiveness, and the group manager of Production Strategy for TMNA.

In these roles, Voelkel led strategic initiatives to ensure long term competitiveness for Toyota and directed capacity planning and supply chain optimization for vehicle and powertrain operations in North America.

During his tenure at TMMTX, Voelkel established two new business partnering groups: the Toyota Organization for the Development of Latinos and the Toyota Veterans Association. In addition, he served on the board of directors for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for three years.

Voelkel continues to play an active role in both the community and with Toyota business partnering groups. He currently serves on the board of directors for the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, on the executive committee for greater:SATX and is a member of Corporate Partners for Racial Equity. Voelkel is also the executive advisor for the business partnering group W.I.I.T. (Women Influencing and Impacting Toyota) at TMMTX.

Proud of his heritage, Voelkel is a 5th generation Texan born and raised in the central part of the State. He enjoys spending time with his family and many outdoor activities, including raising cattle. Voelkel earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
