Noel Perkins has over 30 years of experience in various roles related to GIS and technical development. Noel is currently working as a GIS Systems Engineer at Trace Systems Inc., where they administer day-to-day operations of a multi-tenant geospatial service integrated into a full-service collaboration platform. Noel has experience with ESRI administration, PowerShell and Python scripting, Chef development, AWS RDS (postgres), infrastructure planning, maintenance, and implementation for geospatial components. Perkins worked in Lynker Technologies as a Geospatial Site Admin for the National Water Center and was responsible for administering the ESRI enterprise and AWS for the NWC transition to the cloud. In the US Army Corps of Engineers, they worked in various roles related to project management and enterprise geospatial data management. Previously, they were a Director for Savannah Area Geographic Information System (SAGIS), where they installed, deployed and maintained ArcGIS server. Furthermore, they have additional experience working as a Manager and Specialist for Purchase Area Development District and a Combat Signaler in the US Army.

Noel Perkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Murray State University, which they completed between 1996 and 1998. In June 2012, they attended the URISA Leadership Academy. Noel also completed two courses in Core Leadership Skills at the University of Georgia, but it is unclear when they took these classes. Noel has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including HAZUS Practitioner and Professional from FEMA, A+ and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA, and GISP from the GIS Certification Institute in October 2005.
