Bill Woodward has a diverse and extensive background in software development and engineering. Bill began their career in 2008 as a Software Architect and Java Development Team Lead at Librato, where they led a team responsible for managing client machines in grid environments. Bill refactored the application to improve deployment flexibility and conducted numerous unit tests.

In 2010, Bill joined Keymind as a Senior Software Developer before moving on to Agilex Technologies as a Senior Software Developer. Bill worked on developing Java application backends and collaborating with web designers to create front-end interfaces using various technologies.

From 2010 to 2011, Bill worked as a Senior Research Associate at The Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at Virginia Tech. During this time, they developed job submission systems and performed database transformations using JavaSpaces, Scala, Spring, and Hibernate.

Bill then joined Rackspace Managed Hosting in 2011 as a Software Developer III. Bill focused on developing a JavaScript-based front-end application and transitioning code patterns to ES6 and React.

In 2017, Bill joined GE Digital as a Senior Staff Software Engineer. Bill led the transition of a legacy JavaScript application to a Node.js Express application and improved its build process.

Moving forward, Bill joined Block.one in 2018 as a Web Application Developer for Voice.com. As a Senior Full Stack developer and team lead, they played a key role in developing a microservices-based social application similar to Medium.

In 2020, Bill joined Voice as a Lead Platform Developer before transitioning to Self Financial, Inc. in 2021. At Self Financial, they initially served as a Lead Engineer before being promoted to Engineering Manager.

Currently, Bill works at Tracer as a Staff Engineer.

Bill Woodward completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, attending from 1984 to 1989. Bill later pursued their Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Texas State University, where they studied from 1994 to 2001. Prior to their higher education, Bill attended James Monroe High School, but information about their degree or field of study at that level is unavailable.
