Anne Terry

Anne Terry has extensive work experience in the field of education and environmental conservation. Anne started their career as a Volunteer Educator and Education Curator at The Texas Zoo, where they designed and taught themed educational programs. Anne then worked as a Pet Care Associate at PetSmart, educating customers and providing care for animals. Anne conducted research as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on root hair growth and damselflies' color change. Anne also served as a Watershed Protection Department Education Intern at the City of Austin, facilitating summer camps and assisting with teacher workshops. Anne later joined the Mountain Lake Biological Station as an Undergraduate Researcher, studying snake diets and their responses to prey. Anne gained experience as a Lead Tutor and Science and Math Tutor at Sylvan Learning of Austin, coordinating tutoring programs and implementing personalized instruction techniques. Anne's most recent work was at the Tracy Aviary, where they held various positions including Director of Education, Nature Center Manager, Education Manager, Senior Educator, and Bird Programs Educator. In these roles, they oversaw educational programming, managed staff, wrote grants, developed curricula, facilitated programs, and formed community partnerships.

Anne Terry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology: Ecology, Evolution and Behavior from The University of Texas at Austin, where they also completed the UTeach Natural Sciences program from 2006 to 2010. Anne furthered their education by obtaining a Free-Choice Learning Certificate from Oregon State University in June 2015. Additionally, they obtained certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid in June 2011. In December 2010, Anne Terry obtained a Classroom Teacher- Science (Grades 8-12) certification from the Texas State Board for Educator Certification. It is also known that they attended Victoria College, but no specific degree or field of study is provided.
