Marcia Ramos Chang

Marcia Ramos Chang has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Marcia worked as the VP of IP Operations & Client Success at Tradespace starting from 2024. Prior to this, they were the Director of Intellectual Property - Patents | Trademarks | IP Operations at Applied Materials from 2020 to 2023. Before that, they held positions at Metawave Corporation as the Director and Head of Intellectual Property from 2018 to 2020, and as Strategic IP and Corporate Counsel in 2018. Marcia also worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as the Director of IP Strategy, Advanced Development & CTO Office from 2017 to 2018, and as the Managing Director, Intellectual Property Sales and Licensing from 2014 to 2016. Earlier in their career, they held roles at Hewlett-Packard Labs as the Director of Patent Development from 2013 to 2014, and as Senior Patent Development Counsel from 2010 to 2013. Marcia worked as an Associate at Cooley LLP from 2007 to 2010, as well as at Dorsey & Whitney LLP as an Associate in 2005 and at Fish & Neave as a Technical Advisor from 2000 to 2004.

Marcia Ramos Chang obtained their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University between 1994 and 2000. Marcia then pursued an accelerated program for directors at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2014. Prior to that, they earned a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law from 2000 to 2004. Marcia completed their undergraduate studies at The University of Kansas, where they obtained a B.S./B.A in Computer Engineering/Economics from 1990 to 1994. Marcia also studied Computer Engineering at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro from 1988 to 1990.
