Shawn Collins

Shawn Collins has a diverse work experience in software development. Shawn started working as a Mobile Game Developer at Magmic in 2011, where they were involved in porting BlackBerry Java and J2ME games and contributed to the development of new code bases for multiple Android games. From 2013 to 2014, they served as a Technical Lead at Magmic, focusing on performance improvement and the creation of an event-collection platform for big data processing and analytics.

In 2015, Shawn joined bv02 as an Education Software Developer, responsible for coordinating with strategists and designers, leading the development of iOS apps, and creating a technical roadmap for migrating their server. Shawn later became the Mobile Team Lead, managing both Android and iOS development.

In 2017, Shawn joined Foko as a Software Developer, working as both a Senior Software Developer and a Full-Stack Developer. In their role, they worked on iOS development, including gathering product requirements, collaborating on user stories, refactoring code, and maintaining iOS build servers. Shawn also worked as a Full-Stack Developer, using Node.js, LoopBack, Redis, and MongoDB, and taking on DevOps responsibilities.

Finally, in 2018, Shawn joined Trading Central as a Senior Software Developer, where they continue to contribute their expertise in software development.

Shawn Collins completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa / Université d'Ottawa, starting in 2007 and graduating in 2011.
