Stage Director, Clueless: The Musical at Trafalgar Entertainment

Sarna Lapine's work experience includes serving as a Stage Director for Trafalgar Entertainment since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Stage Director for the University of Michigan - School of Music, Theatre & Dance, where they directed a concert version of Fiddler on the Roof. Sarna also served as a Guest Teaching Artist (Theater Director) for the Hartt School Community Division University of Hartford in 2021, contributing to the development of a new musical called SALEM. In 2018, Lapine was a Guest Director at The Juilliard School, leading a production of "Into the Woods" involving drama students, classical musicians, and opera singers. Sarna has also worked as a Guest Director at Fordham University in 2016 and as a Course Instructor at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, they have gained experience in the film industry, working as an Assistant at Sony Pictures Classics Inc. in 2010 and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University School of the Arts in 2007 and 2006. Lapine's earlier experience includes serving as a Documentary Filmmaker for Northwest Film Forum from 2003 to 2005, where their short film "My Saraab" received recognition and awards.

Sarna Lapine completed their education in a chronological order. In 1994, they started attending the University of Rochester, where they pursued a BA in English Literature & History, specifically focusing on American Indian Studies. In 1995, Lapine participated in a Leadership Summer Semester at Outward Bound California, furthering their skills in activities such as white water rafting, rock climbing, and mountaineering. The following year, they continued their studies at the University of Washington, earning a Bachelor's degree. Sarna'smajor was English Language and Literature & Anthropology, with a minor in Gender Studies. In 1997, Lapine went to NOLS for mountaineering, and then in 1999, they received instructor training in mountaineering from the Pacific Northwest Outward Bound School. Additionally, Lapine acquired a Wilderness First Aid certificate and Avalanche 1 training from Yamnuska Mountain Adventures in the same year. In 2001, they attended Harvard University Graduate School of Design and obtained a Career Discovery Certificate in Architecture. Finally, from 2006 to 2009, Lapine pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Film/Video and Photographic Arts from Columbia University School of the Arts.
