Kyle Jennings

Lead frontend engineer at Traliant

Kyle Jennings has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Kyle started their career in 2007 as a System Admin in the U.S. House of Representatives, managing multiple offices and interacting with Congressional members and their staff. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Web Developer at NJI Media, where they handled Drupal and WordPress projects and led the development of various websites.

In 2014, Kyle served as an Assistant Instructor at General Assembly, helping others in their learning journey. Kyle then joined ISL (iStrategyLabs) as a Creative Technologist, leading the development of WordPress, Django, and static websites. During this time, they also played a key role in numerous projects, such as sleep.org, isl.co, and a microsite for a pre-season ad campaign.

From 2015 to 2018, Kyle worked at Mobomo as a Web Developer, primarily focusing on WordPress Multisite administration, management, and development. Kyle spearheaded the migration of the platform to a modern Docker environment on AWS and Cloud.gov, implemented page speed and mobile site optimization, and developed an Alexa skill for a government agency.

In 2018, Kyle joined the Economic Policy Institute as a Web Engineer, specializing in DevOps and full stack web development. Kyle achieved significant cost savings by migrating the website to a fault tolerant and scalable AWS infrastructure and modernized its architecture by utilizing AWS microservices.

Currently, Kyle is working as a Lead Frontend Engineer at Traliant, starting in 2022.

Kyle Jennings attended Virginia Commonwealth University from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems.
