Rob Van Walleghem has extensive experience in executive and legal roles within various companies. Rob currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Indigenous Affairs & Chief Legal Officer at Trans Mountain, where they previously held the position of Chief Legal Officer. Rob also served as the Interim President of Trans Mountain. Prior to joining Trans Mountain, Rob was the President & Chief Legal Officer at RCV GC Strategic Consulting. Rob has also held executive positions at Tervita Corporation as the Executive Vice President of HSE & General Counsel and at Essential Energy Services Ltd. as the Vice President & General Counsel. Earlier in their career, Rob served as the General Counsel at Tesco Corporation and Cell-Loc Inc. In these roles, they were responsible for global legal affairs, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
Rob Van Walleghem, K.C., CIC.C has a diverse educational background. Rob obtained a LLB degree in Law from the University of Calgary from 1986 to 1988. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies in Political Science and Economics at The University of British Columbia from 1982 to 1985. Rob also has a certification in Certified In House Counsel from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2014 and 2015. Rob further expanded their knowledge and skills by obtaining various certifications in areas such as Learning GDPR, Mergers and Acquisitions Foundations, Understanding Intellectual Property, and Financial Literacy: Reading Financial Reports from LinkedIn in 2018. Their educational journey began at Sir Winston Churchill High School from 1979 to 1981.
