Marijn Smit

Marijn Smit is the President & CEO of Transamerica Asset Management and the previous President of Transamerica Stable Value Solutions Inc. Marijn has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry and has been with Aegon and Transamerica for most of their career.

Marijn started with Aegon in February 2004 as the Manager of Communications/Research & Support Projects for the Institutional Markets Division. In April 2008, they were promoted to Senior Vice President of AEGON Stable Value Solutions Inc. and was responsible for all aspects of business development and client management. Marijn joined AEGON Stable Value Solutions' management team after its formation in June 2009.

In April 2010, Marijn became the President of Transamerica Stable Value Solutions Inc. and overall had management responsibility for the SVS business unit and was also a member of the management board of Transamerica's Employer Solutions and Pensions Division. Marijn successfully managed a group of around 30 professionals in legal, risk, operations and client management.

In July 2014, Marijn was promoted to President & CEO of Transamerica Asset Management where they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's asset management business. Under their leadership, Transamerica Asset Management has become a leading provider of investment management services to individuals, families, and businesses.

Marijn Smit has a Master's degree in Economics with a concentration in finance and investments from the University of Groningen. Marijn also has an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
