Michael Widau has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Michael began their career in 1984 as an Aircraft Electrician in the United States Air Force, where they worked until 1990. From 1990 to 1994, they served as a Distribution Center Manager at Gannett. In 1994, they joined Transcendia, Inc. starting as an Industrial Electrician and later transitioning to roles such as Controls Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and Facilities Engineer, where they are currently employed. In 2011, they ventured into entrepreneurship and became the Owner of Roscoe's Coffee Bar and Tap Room, which they managed until 2019.

Michael Widau obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Kennedy Western University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1989, they attended Fayetteville Technical Community College, focusing on Industrial Electrician without earning a degree. Additionally, they studied Aircraft Electrician at the Community College of the Air Force from 1984 to 1986, also without obtaining a degree.
