Alex Lafaras Mba, Msf

Alex Lafaras, MBA, MSF has extensive experience in finance and administration roles. Alex is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at both Lily Transportation Corp and Transervice Logistics Inc. At Lily Transportation Corp, they assumed this position in June 2023, while at Transervice Logistics Inc, they have been in this role since January 2021.

Prior to their current positions, Lafaras served as the Chief Financial Officer at GGI | General Glass International from January 2019 to December 2020. During their tenure, they successfully revamped the accounting and finance function and implemented new back office systems, resulting in cost savings, increased efficiency, and enhanced visibility.

Before GGI, Lafaras held various leadership positions at Alumil, including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer - North America from January 2014 to December 2018. In this role, they led the operations and finance functions of the company, including managing prestigious projects in the USA and Canada.

Additionally, they served as the CEO of Alumil Bulgaria from January 2012 to December 2013, where they successfully implemented change management models and re-engineered the company.

Lafaras also gained international experience as the Global Controller at Alumil, responsible for overseeing the finance departments of subsidiaries in 20 countries. Alex was also a Senior Cost Controller and held other finance roles during their time at Alumil.

Prior to their work at Alumil, Lafaras served in finance-related roles at VARVARESSOS S.A., where they worked as a Finance Manager and Cost Controller.

Alex began their career as a Junior Accountant at VARVARESSOS S.A. and also completed military service in the Hellenic Army.

Alex Lafaras earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Technological Educational Institute of Western Macedonia in 2000. From 2000 to 2006, they pursued further education at the same institute and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Applications. In 2008, Alex pursued an M.B.A. degree in Finance from The University of Sheffield, which they completed in 2011. Alex then attended Baruch College from 2015 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Finance. In 2017, they completed an Executive Education Program in Negotiation & Leadership at Harvard University.
