Mai Nguyen

Mai Nguyen has a diverse work experience in the energy sector. Mai is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Transgrid since 2022. Prior to that, they were employed at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), where they held various roles including Principal Engineer from July 2021 to February 2022, Senior Engineer from July 2019 to July 2021, and Engineer, Network Development from July 2017 to July 2019. Before joining AEMO, they worked as a Power System Engineer at VietnamMW from February 2015 to March 2017. Mai also has a background in academia, serving as a Senior Lecturer at Electric Power University from March 2013 to March 2017. Additionally, they gained experience as an Energy Specialist at RCEE-NIRAS JSC from February 2016 to February 2017. Prior to that, Mai worked as a Research Scholar at the Queensland Geothermal Energy Centre of Excellence from March 2009 to December 2012. Mai started their career as a Graduated Engineering at Electric Power Trading Company in July 2008. Throughout their career, Mai has demonstrated expertise in electricity market, power system analysis, renewable energy integration, and substation automation design.

Mai Nguyen completed their Bachelor's degree in Power System from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2006. Mai then pursued a Master's degree in Electricity Market at The University of Queensland from 2007 to 2009. Mai furthered their education at The University of Queensland and obtained a PhD in Engineering from 2009 to 2012.
