Prior to their current position, Kirk worked as VP, Compliance Strategy & Implementation at Kaiser Permanente and CVS Caremark Corporation. Kirk began their career as an attorney at the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of General Counsel in 1998. Kirk then served as Special Assistant US Attorney at the Maryland US Attorney's Office from 2003-2004. In 2005, they joined the law firm of Hyman, Phelps & McNamara, P.C. where they practiced Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement law. Kirk left the firm in 2007 to join King & Spalding as Of Counsel in their FDA and Life Sciences Group. Kirk remained at King & Spalding until 2009 when they joined CVS Caremark Corporation as VP, Compliance Strategy & Implementation.
Kirk has been working in the compliance field for over 10 years, and has been successful in managing teams of compliance professionals at both CVS Caremark Corporation and Kaiser Permanente. Kirk is currently the Director at Transition Projects, and is responsible for leading the company's compliance efforts.
Kirk Dobbins has a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Dallas, a Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and a JD from the University of Houston Law Center. Kirk also has a certification from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) in CCEP, CCEP-I, CHPC, and CHC.
