James Michie has extensive maritime experience in various roles, primarily with Transocean, where since May 2013, James has served as Chief Mate, overseeing deepwater drilling operations, crew leadership, and emergency response initiatives. Previous positions at Transocean included Chief Mate, Dynamic Positioning Officer, and Second Mate, where responsibilities spanned vessel stability management, safety inspections, and project planning. In addition to maritime roles, James has a significant background in emergency services, currently serving as Captain at Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company, and previously as Lieutenant at Castine Fire Rescue Department. James also has experience as a Deck Cadet with Crowley Maritime and in safety inspection roles at Six Flags America. James holds a degree in Marine Transportation Operations from Maine Maritime Academy.
