Somandru Costel

Somandru Costel is a skilled marine engineer with extensive experience in the maritime industry. Currently serving as a Marine Engineer at Transocean since July 2025, Somandru is involved in the Neptun Deep Project aboard the Transocean Barents Semisub. Previously, Somandru held positions as 2nd Engineer and 3rd Engineer at EDT Group from January 2023 to September 2025, and worked as a 3rd Engineer at Prysmian Group for a brief period in 2022. Additional roles include 3rd Engineer and Motorman at BOURBON from January 2016 to April 2022, and Motorman at EDT Offshore and Virtu Ferries. Somandru holds a Master's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Marine Engineering from Constanta Maritime University, completed from 2018 to 2020, and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering from the same institution, earned from 2013 to 2017.
