Jose Salas

Jose Salas has a strong background in risk management and portfolio management. Jose worked at TransRe from 2013 to the present, starting as a Lead Analyst and progressing to roles as a Portfolio Manager and currently as a Senior Risk Manager. Prior to joining TransRe, they worked at Aon Benfield from 2007 to 2013, where they started as a Broker and then became a Catastrophe Management Senior Analyst. Jose began their career at The San Jose Group as a Junior Executive in 2006.

Jose Salas attended the University of Chicago from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Jose'sareas of study included Economics, Romance Languages, and Computer Science. During their time at the university, Jose also pursued additional courses at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2004 to 2007. These courses focused on subjects such as Population and the Economy, Business Ethics and Economics, and Demographics of Marketing. In 2005, they participated in a study abroad program at the University of Chicago Center in Paris, where they studied French and European Civilization.

In terms of certifications, Jose obtained the Certified Catastrophe Risk Management Professional (CCRMP) certification from The CAS Institute in September 2020. Jose also received the Certified Extreme Event Modeler (CEEM) certification from AIR Worldwide in March 2014.
