May Mebrat Jihar

May Mebrat Jihar is an experienced interpreter and educator with a diverse professional background. Currently serving as a tolk. interpreter at Transvoice since June 2022, May has extensive experience in interpreting Arabic and Tigrinya. May previously held positions at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in angiography and intervention from 2018 to 2022. May also worked as a teacher in health and care at ABF Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund and led courses on parenting and non-violent communication for non-Swedes at daralnur föreläsnings verksamhet. Additionally, May has a strong educational foundation with degrees in radiologic technology and sign language interpretation from institutions such as Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet. May’s extensive experience also includes mentoring young Muslim women and assisting new immigrants in their integration process in Sweden.
