John Bergman has a strong background in bridge engineering and project management. John started their career at Bergman Engineering Associates as an Inspector and Engineering Tech, where they provided construction inspection services for roadway and utility projects. John also managed roadway paving projects, including emergency repairs.

In 1998, John joined Modjeski and Masters, Inc. as a Project Manager/Engineer. John was also involved in hiring new staff for the growing office. John provided experienced leadership in developing procedures for writing proposals and streamlining the go/no-go process. John introduced corporate safety policies and ensured compliance with OHSA standards.

John Bergman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with a specialization in Structural Engineering from Rutgers University between 1996 and 1998. In terms of additional certifications, John obtained the "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers" certificate from the FHWA National Highway Institute in June 2019.
