Travel Industry Authority 旅遊業監管局

Established in January 2020 under the Travel Industry Ordinance (Cap. 634), the Travel Industry Authority (TIA) is a statutory regulatory body of the travel industry primarily responsible for the licensing and regulation of travel agents, tourist guides and tour escorts. Following the full implementation of the new regulatory regime of the travel industry from 1 September 2022, TIA is committed to promoting the integrity, competence and professionalism of the travel industry practitioners as well as regulating shops that inbound tour groups are arranged to patronise. TIA is also responsible for managing the Travel Industry Compensation Fund and collecting levies from travel agents.
