Michelle (Westerberg) Woodard began their career in 1999 as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Gonzaga University, where they served as the primary media contact for volleyball and women's basketball programs, and enhanced their skills in writing press releases, game notes and recaps, posting content online, writing, editing and designing layout for media guides, and building relationships with coaches, student-athletes, athletic department and campus colleagues as well as media. In 2000, they became the Assistant Director of Sports Information at Oregon State University. In 2007, they joined Travel Oregon as the Grants Manager. Michelle then took on the role of Industry Communications Content Editor, managing the design, content, editing and distribution of e-newsletters and working across the organization to develop content and strategy for delivery. Michelle also developed and managed the editorial calendar for communications to Oregon's travel & tourism industry and worked with Travel Oregon's Integrated Marketing team on industry website development and improvement, while editing and creating online content. Additionally, they were the project lead in tandem with Travel Oregon's Integrated Marketing team for website redesign of Industry.TravelOregon.com and served as the liaison to the annual matching grants program, preparing potential recipients with feedback on project ideas to help elevate possibility of funding, maintaining grant application and award databases, and communicating to recipients upon award. Lastly, they provided a range of support for tourism development programming with emphasis in email and online communications and contact database management, and worked closely with matching grant programming and the annual Oregon Governor's Conference on Tourism.
Michelle (Westerberg) Woodard completed their Bachelor's degree in Communication/Journalism at Southern Oregon University between 1994 and 1998.
