Shiraz Iqbal

Shiraz Iqbal has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Shiraz is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Travel Solutions International (TSI), a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Sabre Corporation where they held various roles, including Software Engineering Manager, Principal Manager of Software Engineering, and Lead of Software Engineering from 2013 to 2022. Before joining Sabre Corporation, Shiraz worked at Fujitsu as a Lead Software Development Engineer, leading teams in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and developing complex technical and business solutions for a Network Management System. Shiraz was with Fujitsu from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, Shiraz co-founded Syfr and served as the Head of Software Development from 2005 to 2008. Their early career started at Sprint, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from 1999 to 2004.

Shiraz Iqbal has a history of higher education in the field of computer science and electronics engineering. From 1992 to 1996, Shiraz attended Nagpur University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering. Continuing further education, from 1998 to 1999, Shiraz enrolled at The University of Texas at San Antonio and earned a Master's degree in Computer Science. In addition to these formal degrees, Shiraz also obtained a certification in February 2021, namely the HarvardX Verified Certificate for Fundamentals of TinyML. This certification was obtained through HarvardX, an online learning initiative by Harvard University in collaboration with edX.
