Roberto Mosca

Roberto Mosca has extensive experience in the software engineering and bioinformatics fields. Roberto is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at TravelPerk, where they utilize their full-stack expertise in Python, Django, React, Twilio, Terraform, AWS, and Datadog. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at TravelPerk, where they were responsible for full-stack development using Python, Django, React, and Twilio.

Before joining TravelPerk, Roberto worked at IECISA | Informática El Corte Inglés as a Software Architect and team lead. Roberto held this position from April 2019 to January 2020.

From 2015 to 2019, Roberto worked at Clarivate Analytics, formerly the IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters. During their time there, they were a Solutions Developer and technical lead in the Systems Biology Informatics division. Roberto designed and delivered customized web applications for pharmaceutical companies and served as a technical lead, working as a SCRUM master and Product Owner for a remote team of developers. Roberto also engaged in pre-sales activities, collaborating with the sales team to identify potential solutions and estimate work effort and costs.

Prior to joining Clarivate Analytics, Roberto worked as a Software Developer in the Systems Biology Informatics division at Thomson Reuters from July 2015 to December 2016.

Roberto's earlier experience includes positions at IRB Barcelona as a Research Associate and Post Doctoral Fellow in the Structural Bioinformatics group, conducting research on macromolecular complexes and protein interactions. Roberto also worked as a Bioinformatics Software Engineer at EMBL and as a Post-doc in Structural Bioinformatics at IFOM. Roberto completed their PhD at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca in 2005.

Roberto Mosca holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Master's Degree in Computer Science at the same university from 1995 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Roberto has obtained various certifications, including "Microfrontends with React: A Complete Developer's Guide" and "The Modern React Bootcamp," both from Udemy, in 2021. Roberto also has certifications in management and leadership skills, such as "Manager's Guide to Difficult Conversations" and "Leadership: Practical Leadership Skills," also from Udemy, obtained in early 2021. Further certifications include "DevOps Foundations" from Lynda.com in 2019, and "Cert Prep: Certified Scrum Master" from Lynda.com in 2019. Roberto obtained the certification "UX & Web Design Master Course: Strategy, Design, Development" from Udemy in 2018.
