Leonel Matiz has a diverse work experience in the tourism and technology industries. Leonel started their career as a Technology Studies Analyst at Banco de Bogotá, where they selected and coordinated the implementation of software solutions for the bank. Later, they joined Resort Condominiums International de Colombia S.A. as a Technical Support Executive, providing full support to accounts using the RCC software for Vacation Ownership management. Leonel also participated in the installation of the platform for Calima Resorts. In 1999, they joined Resort Condominiums International de México S. de R.L de C.V., where they held various roles, including Technical Support Supervisor, RCC Account Manager, Global Business Applications Manager, and Senior Manager of Consulting & Advisory. In these roles, they provided consulting and advisory services for tourism and vacation ownership projects, managed global business applications, and implemented operations platforms for resorts across different countries. In 2019, they became the Call Center Director at TravelSmart VIP Vacations and also worked as a Principal Consultant, providing professional consulting and advisory services for tourism and vacation ownership projects.
Leonel Matiz has a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, which they obtained between 1989 and 1996. Leonel also attended Universidad Anáhuac in 2005, where they studied Strategic Administration in the field of Business Administration. In 2008, they completed a short-term program in Management Skills at Tecnológico de Monterrey, focusing on Business Administration. Lastly, in 2011 and 2012, they pursued Market Research studies at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. In terms of additional certifications, Leonel has obtained various LinkedIn certifications in subjects such as Critical Thinking, Creating a Business Plan, and Digital Transformation.
