Mayte Santamaria

Deputy County Administrator II at St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners

Mayte Santamaria currently serves as Deputy County Administrator II and Planning & Development Services Director at St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, overseeing the planning, building, code compliance, and GIS divisions since February 2022. Previously, Mayte was Senior Planning Policy Advisor for Monroe County BOCC, where responsibilities included reviewing and updating the Comprehensive Plan and advising on planning policies from May 2019 to February 2022. Mayte's career in planning and environmental resources spans multiple roles, including Assistant Director and Senior Director for Monroe County, and positions with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Department of Community Affairs. An alumna of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Zoology and an MSM in Management, Mayte has also pursued leadership training at Harvard University and engaged in various leadership development programs, including Lean Six Sigma.
