Çağrı Mert Bakırcı-Taylor has held a variety of roles in the research and engineering fields. From 2010-2013, they were a Research Intern at Carnegie Mellon University, where they worked on a robot called "Water Strider Robot" in the Nanorobotics Laboratory. Çağrı Mert then worked as a Research Intern at Technical University of Denmark from 2011-2013, where they worked on biomimetic approaches. From 2013-2018, they were a PhD, GPTI at Texas Tech University. In 2018, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Kreosus, and they are currently the Chief Executive Officer of Evrim Ağacı.

Çağrı Mert Bakırcı-Taylor has a comprehensive educational background. Çağrı Mert obtained their High School degree from Milli Piyango Anatolian High School (Science-Maths Branch) in 2007. Çağrı Mert then went on to earn their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in 2013. Afterwards, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Evolutionary Robotics from Texas Tech University in 2018. Additionally, they have obtained two course certificates from Coursera Course Certificates, one for A Crash Course in Data Science in 2016 and one for Machine Learning in 2016.
