Karl Merrick

Associate Director, Drug Discovery Biology at Treeline Biosciences

Karl Merrick has extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and cancer research. Karl'smost recent position is at Treeline Biosciences, where they serve as the Associate Director of Drug Discovery Biology since August 2022. Previously, they worked at Genentech from September 2016 to July 2022 as a Senior Scientist (Group Leader) in the Discovery Oncology department.

Before joining Genentech, Karl worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research from January 2012 to August 2016, under the guidance of Dr. Michael B. Yaffe. Additionally, they gained research experience as a PhD Research Student at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Mt Sinai School of Medicine from September 2005 to December 2011, under the supervision of Dr. Robert P. Fisher.

Karl Merrick received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan. Karl attended the University from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a higher level of education and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Karl completed their PhD program at Weill Cornell from 2005 to 2012.
