William Kincannon has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences. William currently works as a Scientist II at Treeline Biosciences since March 2022. Prior to this, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Montana State University-Bozeman from September 2020 to March 2022. In this role, they led multiple projects focused on metalloenzyme catalysis, enzyme and protein engineering, structural biology, and bioinformatics. William also mentored graduate and undergraduate students.
Before that, William worked as a Doctoral Student at the University of Utah from June 2015 to July 2020. William'sresearch focused on studying the mechanism of post-translational modifications of peptide-based natural products and RNA modifying enzymes using high-resolution mass spectrometry and UHPLC. William also gained teaching experience as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry from August 2013 to May 2015.
In addition, William has experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara from June 2012 to August 2013. There, they employed Ion-Mobility coupled with Mass Spectrometry to investigate various biological systems. Prior to entering the field of biosciences, they worked as a Lifeguard I at California State Parks from June 2007 to 2012.
William Kincannon obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from UC Santa Barbara, where they attended from 2008 to 2013. Subsequently, they pursued their education further and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry at the University of Utah, where they studied from 2013 to 2018.
