Matthew Wood

Director, IT Security at Trek Bicycle

Matthew Wood has a solid background in IT security and infrastructure management. Matthew began their career at S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in 2011, where they served as an Infrastructure & Operations Lead, overseeing network architecture and enhancement. Matthew also managed global network services for the company's locations worldwide and developed automation scripts to streamline system management. In 2015, Wood joined Trek Bicycle as an Infrastructure Security Engineer, where they provided strategic analysis and recommendations for security goals and collaborated on the development of security policies and governance. Matthew was later promoted to Global Information Security Manager, leading security assessments and implementing industry best practices. In 2023, Wood became the Director of IT Security, responsible for managing a lean and effective security team and aligning the security program with industry standards. Additionally, Wood has experience as the Secretary for the Police & Fire/EMS Commission at the Village of Johnson Creek since 2019.

Matthew Wood obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and International Business with a focus on Latin America from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they attended from 2003 to 2007. In terms of additional certifications, Matthew earned the GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT) certification from GIAC Certifications in March 2019, the CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) certification from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in February 2018, the CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) certification from (ISC)2 in February 2016, and the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification from (ISC)2 in July 2013.
