Yu-Jay Huoh

Yu-Jay Huoh has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. They began their career as a Junior Analyst at The Climate Corporation in 2008, where they worked on quantifying weather risk and developing scripts to process weather reports. They then pursued their graduate studies in statistics at UC Berkeley, where they conducted research in various statistical fields and served as a Graduate Student Instructor. After completing their studies in 2013, Yu-Jay joined Resource Management Associates as a Statistician and Programmer, where they advised and developed a probabilistic framework for a computational model. In the same year, they joined First Republic Bank as an Analyst and were fully responsible for developing and maintaining a stress testing model for mortgage loans. In 2015, Yu-Jay became the Lead Data Scientist at Earnest Inc, where they developed and implemented an automated loan decisioning model. They then joined SmithRx in 2016 as a Software Engineer and led the design and implementation of various data models and reporting infrastructure. In 2018, Yu-Jay joined Intuit as a Marketing Manager, and in 2019, they joined Trellis as a Data Choreographer in Residence.

Yu-Jay Huoh completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Applied Mathematics and another Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics at UC Berkeley from 2008 to 2013.
