YU Zhang

YU Zhang has a diverse range of work experience. They started as an Analyst Intern at Analysis Group in 2014, where they cleaned and analyzed data using SAS and created Excel reports for clients. They also conducted a systematic literature review of clinical trials. In 2016, YU became a Student Assistant at Texas A&M University School of Public Health, where they developed an R package and improved MATLAB programs for survival analysis. Following this, YU worked as a Statistian Intern at Advanta Seeds in 2017. In 2018, they joined Trelly as a Software Engineer and later advanced to the role of Senior Software Engineer. They eventually became an Engineering Manager before joining Illumina in 2022 as a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer.

YU Zhang holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University, which was obtained from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, Zhang completed a Master of Science in Pathology from Peking University Health Science Center, with the duration of 2012 to 2015. Zhang's undergraduate education consists of a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University, which was earned from 2008 to 2012. In addition to these academic qualifications, Zhang has also obtained certifications in SAS programming. They are a SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9, obtained in June 2015, and a SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9, obtained in April 2015.
