Aaron Russell has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Aaron began their career as a Firefighter in the Royal Air Force, specializing in aircraft crash rescue and airport security. Aaron then worked as a Roustabout/Roughneck in the drilling industry before joining Bombardier Services as a Firefighter and Watch Manager, where they were responsible for aviation firefighting and risk assessments. Aaron went on to work at Manchester Airport as a Firefighter/Crew Manager, handling domestic, aircraft, and petrochemical firefighting. Aaron then transitioned to Norske Skog Tasman NZ, where they focused on workplace safety, emergency response, and security. Aaron also worked at Newcastle Rescue as a Site Safety and Confined Space Rescue Officer. Aaron later joined Spotless Group as an Emergency Services Officer, responsible for training and coordinating emergency response drills and exercises. Prior to their current position as Head of Health and Safety at Trevelyan's Pack & Cool Ltd, Aaron served as a Fire Officer/Deputy Fire Chief at Falck Exxon Mobil and later as a Fire Chief, leading a team of firefighters and managing oil spill response and health and safety.

Aaron Russell has a diverse education history in crisis, emergency, and disaster management. Aaron obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Massey University between 2018 and 2022. Prior to that, they completed a Diploma in Emergency Management at CLET Training from 2014 to 2015. In 2013 to 2014, they pursued a Diploma in Health and Safety Management at the Southern Institute of Technology University.
