Lucía López Vásquez

Research Scientist I at Treventis

Lucía López Vásquez has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Lucía is currently working as a Senior Research Associate II at Treventis Corporation, where they conduct research related to the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. From 2022 to 2023, they worked as an English Editor at MDPI, where they edited scientific papers for publication. Prior to that, from 2022 to 2023, they worked as a Research Technician II at the University Health Network, specifically in Dr. Donald Weaver's lab. Lucía also has experience working at the University of Toronto as a Laboratory Technician, where they contributed to cloning projects in Dr. Igor Stagljar's lab from 2017 to 2018. As a Graduate Student at the University Health Network from 2013 to 2016, they focused on lysosomal storage disorders in Dr. Jeffrey Medin's lab. Lastly, during their undergraduate years at Universidad Simón Bolívar from 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Research Assistant in Dr. Cristina Castelli's microbiology lab.

Lucía López Vásquez completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad Simón Bolívar from 2006 to 2011. Lucía then pursued a Master's degree in Medical Science at the University of Toronto from 2013 to 2017.

In terms of additional certifications, Lucía received the "Tools for Data Science" certification from IBM in July 2022, and the "Data Science Orientation" certification from IBM in May 2022. Lucía also obtained the "Probability and Statistics: To p or not to p?" certification from Coursera in May 2020, and the "McGill Personal Finance Essentials course" certification from McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management in April 2020. Lastly, Lucía received the "Drug Discovery (University of California San Diego)" certification from Coursera in March 2020.
