Ashley Navas has a wealth of experience in the field of bioscience and animal care. Ashley began their career in 2012 as an Aquarist Intern at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, where they employed advanced techniques of animal husbandry, performed aquarium maintenance, and engaged in small-scale rescue missions. In 2017, they worked as a Zooarchaeology Intern for the UCSC Anthropology Department, and as a Dog Handler for Fitdog Sports Club LLC. In 2018, they interned at the County of Santa Clara Parks Department as an Outdoor Recreation Intern and Interpreter, and also attended field school offered by the University of California of Santa Cruz. From 2019 to 2021, Ashley worked at SC Laboratories as a Laboratory Technician and Laboratory Assistant, and at Gilead Sciences as a Research Support Specialist. Currently, they are a Research Associate at TRexBio.
Ashley Navas began their educational career in 2011 at Santa Monica College, where they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences - AAS in Biology/Biological Sciences, General in 2015. Ashley then attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2016 to 2018, where they earned a degree in Earth Science/Anthropology with a focus in Zooarchaeology and Paleontology.
