Niel Mistry has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Niel started their career as a Programming Team Member and later became the Lead Programmer for FRC Team 1325: Inverse Paradox from September 2015 to June 2017. Niel also served as a Flight Sergeant for the Royal Canadian Air Cadets 789 Squadron from September 2013 to August 2017. In 2018, Niel worked as a Lead Web Developer at Supportiv.AI, where they created a minimum viable product using VueJS and Microsoft Azure. Niel also participated in the Entrepreneurship in Training - Bridging Entrepreneurs to Students Program at Conrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology Centre, completing various business critical projects. Niel then worked as a Mechatronics/System Engineering Co-op at Philip Beesley Architect Inc, contributing to electrical design, debugging, software/controls development, and general tasks related to building installations. Niel also joined the Robot in 3 Days team at the University of Waterloo. In 2019, Niel worked as a Laboratory Development Assistant at the Institute for Quantum Computing, focusing on the Quantum Information with Trapped Ions Lab. Niel then transitioned to Forward Robotics in 2020 as a Drone Systems Engineer. Currently, Niel is a Robotics Software Developer at Trexo Robotics, a position they held in 2021 and continues to hold in 2022.

Niel Mistry completed their high school education at Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School from 2013 to 2017, earning a High School Diploma. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 2017 to 2022. Alongside their formal education, Niel also obtained additional certifications, including a Radiotelephone Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A) from Innovation, Science and Economic Development in August 2017, as well as a Private Pilot License from Transport Canada in August 2017.
