Ellen Petrila

Ellen Petrila is an experienced educational professional currently serving as an Instructional Designer at Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. since July 2023. Prior to this role, Ellen spent seven years as a Special Education Teacher at Denver Public Schools, where responsibilities included managing Individual Education Plans, lesson planning, student data tracking, behavioral management, and teaching history and social studies. Ellen's teaching experience also includes a position at Shiloh House from September 2013 to September 2016, focusing on high-risk students with severe trauma and social emotional disabilities. Ellen began the teaching career at ACE Community Challenge School from July 2012 to September 2013. Ellen holds a Master of Education in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Social Studies Education from Knox College.
