Rita Fernandez

Rita Fernandez has over 19 years of work experience in various legal roles. Rita currently works as a Corporate & Contracts Counsel at Tricon Energy, starting in January 2023. Prior to this, Rita worked at Schlumberger from 2019 to January 2023, where they held two positions. As a Contracts Analyst, they conducted risk assessments of global accounts' Master Services Agreements and reviewed customers' contracts. Rita also proposed improvements to the contract management system. As a Contracts Coordinator, Rita revamped Latin America General Terms and Conditions templates and conducted risk assessments of Latin America Master Service Agreements. Rita also reviewed contract data to identify inconsistencies and improve data quality. From 2017 to 2018, Rita worked as a Legal Assistant at Tait Communications, handling contractual and legal matters and providing strategic advice for risk management. Rita conducted due diligence investigations of partners and third parties, advising on potential corruption and reputation risks. Additionally, they analyzed Brazilian bidding documents. In 2013, Rita briefly worked as a Legal Consultant at Stork, and prior to that, from 2002 to 2005, they worked as an Attorney at their own practice as a Sole Practitioner.

Rita Fernandez has a diverse education history. In 1992, they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from UERJ. Rita further pursued their studies and completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Sciences from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro between 1993 and 1995. Additionally, Rita Fernandez earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Universidade Gama Filho in the field of law between 1993 and 1996.

In 1997, they obtained specializations in Constitutional Law and Criminal Law from Universidad de Salamanca. That same year, they also obtained their Bar Admission certification from Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil/RJ.

Rita Fernandez later enrolled at the University of Houston Law Center in 2012 and completed their Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law in 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Accountant certification from Conselho Regional de Contabilidade/RJ in December 1995, and in August 1992, they received the Business Administrator certification from Conselho Regional de Administração/RJ.
