John Caruthers

John Caruthers has a long and varied work experience, beginning with their role as Assistant Manager at Toys R Us in 1991. John then moved to the FBI in 1992, where they held several positions including Supervisory Special Agent, Assistant Legal Attache (Cyber), Special Agent, and Information Technology Specialist. In 2015, they joined the San Diego Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE) as an Advisory Board Member, providing federal law enforcement perspective to the membership of the organization. In 2019, they worked at both Illumina as Director of Cyber Security and HAK-iQ as Founder. In 2020, they joined EVOTEK as Business Information Security Officer, and in 2022 they began their current role as EVP - CISO at Triden Group.

John Caruthers obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from James Madison University between 1987 and 1991. In 2016, they obtained a GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF) certification from GIAC. In 2018, they obtained a GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC) certification from GIAC Certifications.
