Tyler J. Skluzacek is a Staff Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where co-leads a team in designing a secure API for high-performance computing and architects machine learning workflows. Tyler also holds adjunct professor positions at the University of Chicago and Trinity Christian College, teaching advanced computer science courses and mentoring students. Previously, Tyler founded NightWare, developing an FDA-cleared application for treating traumatic nightmares and consulting on machine learning and algorithms. Tyler's research background includes significant contributions as a graduate research assistant at the University of Chicago and experiences at IBM, focusing on genome assembly workflows, as well as early roles in data analysis and cloud storage middleware development. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, alongside a BA in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Macalester College.
