Chun Wei Ooi

Chun Wei OOI is a PhD student and researcher at Trinity College Dublin since December 2019. OOI has extensive experience in the field of computer science, currently serving as Production Team Lead for ACM SIGGRAPH since December 2016, focusing on conference coverage and content creation. OOI's research experience includes a role as a visiting researcher at The University of Tokyo from August 2022 to January 2023, collaborating on occlusion capable augmented reality near-eye display technology. Past positions include an internship as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon in mid-2022, a research assistant at the University of Tsukuba from April 2018 to December 2019, and a software engineer at Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. from October 2017 to September 2018. OOI holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, a Master of Library & Information Science with a focus on augmented reality and computer-generated holography from the University of Tsukuba, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science from Kochi University.
