Matt McElheron

Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Researcher (pd2)

Matt McElheron is currently serving as a Ulysses Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at Institut Pasteur since August 2023, while simultaneously holding the position of Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Researcher at Trinity College Dublin. Since August 2020, Matt has also been a Genetics Lab Demonstrator, responsible for instructing undergraduate students in molecular biology techniques, and a Bioinformatics Tutor. Prior to these roles, Matt completed a PhD in Medical Gerontology at University College Dublin, where involvement included serving as a Public Relations Officer and child safety officer for the UCD Sepak Takraw team. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics from University College Dublin, where initial research experience included positions as both an Undergraduate Research Assistant and a genomics research intern in the Gordon Lab.
